Shade makes a playground usable. It cools slides and seats, protects skin and gives adults a comfortable place to watch. In sunny climates it can double the hours a playground is enjoyable.
We design and install shade sails and structures sized for the play area, with strong posts, correct tension and clear heights, and we plan for wind and weather.
Sails and structures
Tensioned sails are modern and flexible in shape. Fixed canopies and pergolas give more solid shade. Roofs on towers shade the platform itself.
Fabric choice affects UV blockage, color and how heat builds up.
Placement and engineering
Sails need strong posts and footings and enough tension to shed wind and water. We plan heights so they clear play activity and do not become a hazard.
In regions with strong storms, sails can be removable or lowered.
