Nature playgrounds use logs, boulders, stumps, hills, tunnels and plants as play equipment. They encourage open-ended exploration and give children a calmer, more varied place to play.
We design and build nature and sensory playgrounds for schools, parks, churches and homes, with durable natural materials and thoughtful safety planning.
Elements of nature play
Log scrambles, stepping stumps, boulders for climbing, willow tunnels, mud kitchens, sand and water play, music panels and plant beds. Each offers a different kind of exploration.
Features are arranged to invite movement without a fixed route.
Safe, natural and durable
Natural elements still need safe heights, spacing and surfaces. Logs and boulders are anchored, surfaces are soft where falls are possible and plants are chosen to be safe and hardy.
We also plan maintenance for wood, plants and surfacing.
