A sandbox is where little hands dig, build and imagine. It is also a place that needs good design: drainage, a cover and seats that keep sand where it belongs.
We build custom sandboxes in cedar with built-in benches, covers and optional shade, and we install them alone or next to a playset.
Details that matter
A drainage layer under the sand keeps it from turning into a puddle. A cover protects it from animals and leaves. Benches around the edge give kids a place to sit and let adults join in.
Corners are rounded and edges are sanded so little ones can lean in safely.
Choosing sand
Play sand is washed and fine, with no dust or rocks. We can recommend amounts and types, and we show you how to keep the sand clean over time.
A shade sail or umbrella keeps the sand and the kids cooler in summer.

Good questions about sandboxes.
Do sandboxes need a cover?
A cover keeps out animals, leaves and moisture and makes upkeep easier.
What size should a sandbox be?
It depends on how many kids will play. We plan for room to dig and sit.
Can you build one next to a playset?
Yes, we plan it so the paths do not conflict with swings and slides.
