Engineered wood fiber is a favorite loose-fill surface for playgrounds. It is made from clean wood fibers that knit together slightly, drain well and cushion falls better than ordinary landscape mulch.
We deliver, spread and edge wood fiber and playground mulch, set the depth for your equipment and give you a simple plan to keep it topped up.
Why wood fiber
It looks natural, is relatively affordable and comes in large quantities that can be spread quickly. Because it knits together, it stays in place better than loose chips and is easier to walk on.
Ordinary yard mulch is not the same product and does not cushion as well.
Keeping it good
Wood fiber compacts, decomposes and scatters. We recommend checking the depth each season, raking it back into place and topping it up.
A border and weed barrier help keep it tidy.

Good questions about wood fiber surfacing.
Is wood fiber different from regular mulch?
Yes. Playground wood fiber is made and screened for play surfaces and cushions better than landscape mulch.
How often do I top it up?
Check the depth each season and add as needed, especially under swings and slide exits.
Does it attract bugs?
Organic material can. Keeping it raked and topped up helps.
