School playgrounds work hard. Dozens of children use them at once, every day, in all weather. Equipment has to be sturdy, easy to supervise and interesting for a range of ages.
We help schools, PTAs and districts plan and install playground equipment, surfacing, shade and seating, and we phase projects to fit fundraising and budgets.
Designing for recess
A good school playground separates younger and older children, offers lots of ways to play at once and keeps sightlines open for teachers. It balances active climbing with quiet corners.
We also think about circulation so children do not run through swing zones or into line-up areas.
Planning and funding
Schools often build in phases, starting with a core structure and adding pieces as funds allow. We provide clear scope and options to help with grants, fundraising and bids.
Surfacing, accessibility and shade are planned from the start, so later phases fit together.
