Years of sun, rain and play leave wooden swing sets gray, rough and tired. Restoration takes a good set back to its best: cleaning, sanding, repairs, new hardware and a protective finish.
It is often the best way to extend the life of a well-built set, and it lets you refresh the color and add new features at the same time.
The restoration process
We start with a full inspection and repairs. Then we clean and sand the wood, replace worn hardware, seats and chains and apply a stain or sealer chosen for your climate.
Accessories can be added or updated at the same time, such as a new slide, a climbing wall or fresh swings.
What to expect
Restoration works best on sound wood. If the frame is rotted or the set is unsafe, we will recommend replacement. When it is a good candidate, the transformation can be dramatic.
You will also get simple guidance on keeping the finish fresh.

- You want to keep a good set going

Worth knowing
- Rotten or cracked structural wood needs replacement

- Weather affects finishing schedules
Good questions about restoration and refinishing.
Can a gray set be restored?
Often yes. Gray is surface weathering, and sanding and sealing can bring the wood back if it is sound.
Can I change the color?
Yes. We can use a stain in a new color, depending on the existing finish.
How long does it take?
It depends on size and weather. We confirm the timing when we see the set.
